MEET THE CAST
Matilda Walden

Matilda plays the lead role and is a chameleon actor who already has a number of impressive credits under her belt. She has the enviable ability to carry out comedic and serious roles with ease.
Bridal Bay is being pitched to Prime video if accepted this will be the second prime video Matilda has been cast in.
REUBEN OSCAR

Reuben Oscar plays James who is the lead roles former boyfriend. I am so pleased to have him on board. Reuben is an emerging British actor, he is an absolute pleasure to work with, hard working and totally dedicated to the whole film. And he brings home made flapjack to set, so what’s not to love 😂😂😂
Chelsey Needham

Chelsey plays the supporting actress & my best friend Daisy. Chelsey is an amateur actress & a professional dancer. She has her own business in Morecambe called Sea Studio. She auditioned for the part and we were blown away with her acting abilty and commitment & over joyed to have her on board.
Jayne Walden

Jayne plays Julie the erratic owner of the farm house. Jayne is a professional actress, she has worked along side the likes of Robert Carlyle and Emma Thompson. She has also been in ITV and BBC dramas. She has also appeared on Amazing Spaces & The Confidence Lab.
Heather Cononly

Heather is an amateur actress, she has played a part in a number of my productions including my mother in the music video for Boom Boom Chickerty Boom
Helen Logan and Terry Gunz

Helen Logan and Terry play our police officers
Liat Knowles

Liat plays a small but pivotal part in our movie
Matt Panesh

Matt Panesh is a professional actor & has been a great support for me over the years
Matt is ultra talented whether it be from reading poetry to acting or organising massive events like the Morecambe Poetry Festival. He plays an adulterous husband in the film.
Holly, Alex and Chloe

Holly, Alex and Chloe play a group of local girls hanging about in the pub garden.
James Mackie

Super excited to announce that James Mackie has produced original instrumental music that we can use in the film. It sounds absolutely outstanding and we cannot thank him enough for his contribution.
James was a member of the Two-Tone band The Selecter in the 1980s playing Hammond Organ, Tenor Sax and recording the albums, Celebrate the Bullet and Dance Craze. He later played piano for Madness undertaking live work, festivals and TV across the UK, Europe and, notably, Saturday Night Live in New York. A career in music followed as a composer for radio, theatre, dance, TV and film.
We are absolutely honoured that a musician of James’ calibre has given us permission to use his music, it will be an absolute credit for the film.
I first heard of James when he had done a photo shoot in The Old Sea Dog which is a brilliant vintage & antique shop, I looked up his present band and listened to their music, I was blown away. I contacted him and interviewed him for my podcast Beyond Expectations. Link below

Monday 24th February
What a super exciting day, it’s the first day of filming and I’m doing a scene with my mother and a doggy called Ziggy. We have kindly been lent the most amazing house to shoot some of the main scenes at and we cannot thank the owners enough.

Shooting one of the scenes, what a glorious day 😍 I have had so many supporters helping me get to this stage I cannot thank them enough I feel truely blessed!
Friday 7th March
Today we were at The Boardwalk in Morecambe shooting scene six and seven with Reuben. A massive thanks to The Boardwalk for allowing us to use their venue. What a beautiful place with absolutely amazing views of the sea.
The shoot went so smoothly It involved me and Reuben and an extra called Nicola Fletcher who did an amazing job supporting us. Reuben and I had to do an ad-lib scene and it went brilliantly thank goodness!
Monday 10th Filming at the house
What a productive day two scenes done with Reuben. We had to film some of the more scary scenes so it was lights of and filming lights on. It was scary enough filming it, but looking back on the scene it was absolutely terrifying even though we filmed it 😂😂😂
Friday 14th March
Today I met up with Chelsea to run trough scene six

Tues 18th March

It was an early rise today so we could get footage before anyone went on the beach and we got some stunning shots.
We met Kimberly, Karen and Ollie from Morecambe Bay Equestrian Centre just after 7a.m and we got some drone footage with the help of Jack Cordingly from JC Drones.
Jack flew over the Bay and we found quite a surprise and old abandoned jeep in the sea!!!
Sunday 6th April
Here’s a little clip of Reuben one of the main actors speaking about his role in the film, we are so lucky to have such a talented actor in the cast.
MONDAY 7th April
What an exciting day today meeting Reuben and Chelsey to shoot the first scene they are in together, Heather joined us later for her scene. It looks like we are superimposed on this shot, but it’s a totally genuine shot, the sunset was really that amazing 😍

Then we took five after some very intensive filming but everyone still had plenty of energy as you can see. You have to admit Reubens party trick is pretty impressive 😂😂😂😂😂
Friday 2nd May
Well we had a new kid on the block today, Helen joined us as a police officer.

Helen shot her scene today with Terry who played the male officer. She has a very dramatic scene with Reuben, I was quite scared 😂 Helen has acted in various previous dramatic performances including Shakespeare.
And we are were also filming in Morecambe at Rita’s Cafe.

WHY WOULD I MAKE MY OWN FILM?
I decided to make my own film after speaking to many people and encountering my own negative experiences of the amateur dramatics clique. Countless amateur actors that have exceptional acting skills, really just do not get the chance to shine or show case their talents. From my experience some amateur dramatics groups do not pick by talent, they pick by friends & family, Local groups that run the local pantomime can often over-power members of the community with their bullying tactics, they are also often involved in every local event/group so are entwined with all the ‘locals’ so challenge them at your peril! Many will have lived in the same place all their lives and defy any offcumden coming into the area to join in. They have a fear of someone taking over their position and are generally supported by weaker members of the commuinty who fear them and fear challenging them, never rocking the Status Quo. Amateur dramatic groups can also be lead by an ageing society who refuse to move with the times and have the ‘back in our day’ attitude and “Ooo no, Gertrude always plays the lead role” attitude. This is not good for the community or aspiring actors, you can literally see who is going to get the parts by watching the room before auditions and the interaction between the participants and the producer/casting director. Locally if your face doesn’t fit & the local drama group is run by control freaks who were born, bred & will die in the tiny town you have no chance of securing a main part & they may have such a poor reputation that as an aspiring actor you don’t want to or be involved anyway!
How many people are screaming at the screen that happened to me? I know I’m not alone as when I speak to people and tell my story, loads of people I speak to have a story to tell also. In fact a well known blogger has just run a story about it a few days after mine so it happens! Don’t get me wrong I have been part of some awesome, welcoming drama groups whose members are only interested in having a fun time and making the best show that they can. But…. I’m not one to keep quiet, cliques can ruin this for many. I believe it is an issue that needs exposing to help the future generation of youngsters wanting to break into the acting world. And also worth noting is that if you make a wrong decision (especially in this age with so many cameras filming your every move) that time you’re sweeping the floor just to be involved, whilst the most whiny, untalented member of the ‘directors’ mob is literally killing it on the stage, it does not look good on your future prospects of serious acting roles. Move to a more inclusive and professional drama group or make your own destiny, stuff the haters and aim for the stars there is a big world out there!
So what do I do??? I hear you cry! Well you write your own film!
You may say well hang on a minute; why don’t you practice what you preach? You’re the main star in your own film 🤔 Yes in this one but there has been other films I have produced when I haven’t actually been in it, take the Yellow Pages advert for e.g. Also I follow the rule that the main actors have to be talented and they really have to be-able to act. For e.g Chelsey who has a large supporting role, is a friend of mine but she still had to audition and had she not been good enough, thankfully she was phewwwwwww I would have kept searching, even if it meant putting the film on hold.
So let me introduce you to the main characters, this will be updated as they film their scenes.
